Desert dwellers upon the orange heat of the day
The Sonoran cactus is growing astray
From the heat that can bend the knee
And blister the forehead
The desert dwellers thrive in the uncertainty
Of life
Upon the sands of wind and time
Belief that one day
To fully live and be kind
The hat shades the face
And the shirt the skin
But the desert dwellers are stronger within
To take the light and make a life
In the desert light
