The late nights
Nighters
Start when the sun
Is just about to begin
Is daily rotation
I am one in that nation
Of eyes
Looking at the sky
Just before dawn
The late nights
Nighters
Start when the sun
Is just about to begin
Is daily rotation
I am one in that nation
Of eyes
Looking at the sky
Just before dawn
Wake up
And I’ll take up
A new type of
Analytical
Process
To the days ahead
Today’s blue
Is light and airy
In the sky filled with
Sunshine and light dust
The sky must
Be the honor and hope
Of the day
Ahead
So instead of the
Regular grind
I look to the sky
Today to see
The blue
It’s never quite that easy
Identity
Ideally
Realization
It’s a complicated thing
We have to understand
That the layers of a person
Are the layers
That we learn about
Hand in hand
Time’s up for the night
So be alright
With what was accomplished
And what was left
For tomorrow
Remember the night
Where we almost died
It was a treacherous evening
That became more bizarre
As the night went on
The cops showed up to ask questions
But we were just visiting the
Pad
We knew so little
And wanted to leave so bad
The slowdown
Starts with a drop
Into the pool
Of chaos
But rather than
More of the same
Comes a different move
To drain the waters
Of course action
In reaction
A slower movement
Emerges
From the depths of
The churning
Water
Pay me a song
So I can sing along
So that musicians
Like me
Can eat our dinner
Thankfully
To have hope
Finally
Be
Free
It started with a
Bit of wind
Picking up from the south
When the burst came
The hope of the vessel
Was let out
So that summer
I planned
To never sail
Again
Atlas at last
To pay attention to the wind
And the grass
The world as we see it
Needs us to step up
To be what we can potentially be
A source for good you and me
So look at the atlas
And know
This world is ours to save
Or ours to throw
