The weather put me up to it
To walk out the door
In the sake of adventure
Looking once more
For a light
Or hope
In the sun
Was a color
I hadn’t felt in a while
Groovy and strange
Over the swampy range
Was a glimmer
That life will go on
The weather put me up to it
To walk out the door
In the sake of adventure
Looking once more
For a light
Or hope
In the sun
Was a color
I hadn’t felt in a while
Groovy and strange
Over the swampy range
Was a glimmer
That life will go on
The repeat fade
Stayed
A few days
Too long
And so
The repeat goes
Again and again
What I don’t understand
Is how it’s the same
Day over and over
And no one person
Notices
Unite the seashore
With water
Wide and blue
From the coast of Carolina
To the Florida Blue
To California
And Delaware
Everywhere
Can unite
With the waters
That give life
To the world
That we grow
And the only world
I have ever known
It was awful grubby
The attitude of the day
Some would say
Downright
Deplorable
For me I have
A few regrets
To take away
From the day
That went from clear
To grey
Rainfall night
It was awful grubby
Alright
It was a mistake
To hope for change
To vote for change
To think change
Was one step away
Rather it is a way
Of life
And thinking
Living and breathing
We can’t just hope
We can’t just vote
We must live
We must strive
Push into the future
Our good values
Rather than die
On the limb of
Hope
Get your place in line
All the time
From the finish
To the starting line
One paycheck to the
Next
The insurance march
Will keep you in step
Direct
Your life
And finances
In the way of
Confusion
What we pay for
Is just an illusion
Of ideas
Rather than real
Value
Who gets screwed
Me
And
You
It wrote something important
A note or memoir
As it sits
The brass pen
On the empty desk
That is no longer in use
But I can feel it’s use
In a past time
From now
Until
The mind
Not everything is a 10
Out of 10
Not everything do I care
To attend
Or understand
Sometimes
A blithe time
Is what is needed
For peace of mind
In this time
Just swimming and
Enjoying
Life
A gut check
Comes at the strangest times
To be
So sublime
And then again
To think of what could be
From one to
Ten
The summer comes to an end
Again
As the spring flowers
Wilt into the fall
Leaves
I see
A change in the year
This year
Ahead of me
