A slope story
Is being told
Going up and coming down
To understand how we can
Go around
A slope story
Is being told
Going up and coming down
To understand how we can
Go around
A wretched rotten
That’s all I’ve gotten
When there is nowhere else to go
Downtrodden
My mind
Collecting moments
I wish could be forgotten
Today’s memories
All the same
Will be knotted
To the post
In my brain
At times like these
What is the point of planning
Taking the moments
As they come
Rather than hoping
Just trying to do our part
Although at times
It feels like nothing at all
I step out
To see the mountains
At six o’clock
And two minutes
Past
The winds slowly
Roll over the tops
Of trees
And around the walls
Bouncing off the pavement
And crawling past my face
On another
Beautiful Western Day
I admire
The cactus
As it bakes in the sun
Not afraid
Of the weather today
Or tomorrow
Just taking it all in
A balanced cup
Of coffee
In the morning
Keeps the day at bay
From slipping away
Warms the voice
And calms the nerves
For I have been nervous
More than ever
Before
The river cough
Was what made us
Realize
That we needed to go
In Texas
West of Austin
When we heard it
We now know
That space and time
Was closing in
On the life, we hold most precious
And there was nothing we could
Do
Clear moon
Gone for the night
Lifted up in the sky
With a dark ring
For the evening
Upon the day
Is a triumph
Awaiting
Conception
Rise of the sun
A new resurrection
Confusion
And construction
Working in tandem
With each other
Now can reach each other
So what is forward
And back
Is now hard
To say
