The new earth
Releases the petrichor’s
A feeling
After the long drought
As the damp
Water falls on the parched
Earth
I smell the must
Of water
Into the
Sky
Amidst
The worry of the
Dry
The set in water
Eases the earth
Back into life
The new earth
Releases the petrichor’s
A feeling
After the long drought
As the damp
Water falls on the parched
Earth
I smell the must
Of water
Into the
Sky
Amidst
The worry of the
Dry
The set in water
Eases the earth
Back into life
The water is full
Of the movement
From west to east
Slowly rolling over
The waves
Coming at the shore
The birds float above the water
In a strong wind
That holds them still in their
Flight
I hold my breathe as the
Cold wind
Comes against my face
As the liner sits
Out in the grips
Of the water
The season is upon us
Where the blankets come out
The echos are a little more
Crisp
With a reprieve from
The summer heat
The light becomes a bit
More orange
Than the summer blue
And the winter will roll in
Right over
Me and you
Are we concerned
For each other
Or do we just want
Something from
One another
Are we seeking to help
Or seeking to hate
What is the direction
That we will take
Not in our words
But in our actions
Today
The seeds
Of the tree
Grew strong
With hope and optimism
Sunlight and water
Showered the seedling to life
As the tree grew
So the world changed
And no longer needed a tree
It needed a table
So the tree in
It’s most innocent hour
Surrendered to the knife of the
Searcher
Capital seeker
And with the tree down
A family will gather around
A forgotten piece of life
Yet in this grey space of confusion
Is where I am lost for words
For the way of life can be short and fast
Or not
So to learn what we can
While we can
Is what we can
Do
Dancing lightly over the
Fall
Of flowers and trees
Is the butter rabbits
In drinks and
Other things
Such as loafs of bread
Being carried home in a hurry
The dense sensation
Of sweetened desserts
On the minds of those
Who carry them to
Is it helpful
The book that you clutch
With every name and type
Already generated bust
So that you know
Exactly what to think
In a habitual stereotype
That locks you into a world
That I both don’t know
And can’t understand
I walked the shores
Where my feet fell
Just under the crunch of the
Sand
Stones and mixed
Soil
The water lapped the edge
Of the lake
As I felt the zephyr on my face
I remembered a better time
A time not too long ago
But long enough
To feel it could be letting go
So I breathed in that zephyr
And live to see another
Day
Can we rejoice
For another day
Or is that reserved for those
Who have to have it their way
Upon the light of the sun
Over the land that is desperate for
The life force
We retreat in bliss
For yet the world
Can go on
Another day
The moment has come
For the retirement
Of the goods and services
That never were provided
To live a hollow life
Guided by lights
Camera
Action
So rather than fight it
Decide it
Might be better to move
On
Then lay in the wake
Of the changing
Waters
