Rhetorical Noise

It all comes down to the wire

Unwired and unplugged

Unscrewed undone

Why are we all caught up in the glue

Of the everyday

Power is power

Love is love

What comes above

Is respect and dignity

Unbeknownst to me

How to relearn

Love and noise

Are separated at the inception

I hope we all separate the truth

From deception

Hourglass; Tell Me

Hourglass tell me what time will bring

What joys my heart will sing

What pain will be laid on my heart

How I will be broken

And how I will put it all back apart

Will I be rich

Will I be poor

Will I have to ask for help a little more

Hourglass read me my hours

As I fall asleep

Tell me what will be lost

And what I can keep

What is whole

To me known and unknown

Hourglass fasten my eyes on the future

Hourglass bring me hope a little sooner

Sweet of Me

Sweet of me

Coffee on a Friday night

Slow motion

Next to the Atlantic Ocean

Our bed is a revolving door

Ask me tonight and I will be unsure

Of where I will sleep tomorrow

But tonight I drink you in sweet

In a cafe

Near the Abbott Kinney street

Distracted Attractions

Oh what questionable distractions

Attractive as first glance

Quaint and uneasy

Under examined

The sun

The sky

The moon lit nights

Palm trees

Oh the goodness of distraction

The fruitfulness of sanity

Returned from a distant place

Now and again

My distracted zen

Towers Amidst Rotten Fields

The seeds of truth

Lie amongst the fields of lies

Not that we can not discover

But we must earnestly try

While a towering bell lingers

Subtle in the distance

Keeping time on us watching for

Ever instance

In sweet imperfect harmony

With the world that toils around

What we have lost

We have yet to be found

But in time truth will grow

To tower well above the rotten fields

To bring life again to the weaklings

My hope lies in such trees that grow

Along the roads we travel

The roads we have forged

Trees will rise up

Giving us protection from the lies

A Risky Toast

From coast to coast

We raise a risky toast

To love and opportunity

Peace through resistance

Growth through Unity

These times will be marked with

Fraudulent politicians

While plumbers and musicians

Unite on the streets

Of New York City

To say that we won’t back down

Lay down

Or roll over

Not until the fascism is over

Nor the rains have passed

We will stand together at last

United in diversity

United stronger through this diversity

For arrogance knows now mercy

And neither do we

A Below Average Day

Here we are in Washington D.C.

Watching the change of the guards

On guard

It is going to be a day

Not to be remembered

But just another day

Unfortunately not a great day

Just a below average day
