Today was a blur
A blur for good days
Blurry days
All take the same amount
Of time
To live through
So be blurred
Days of mine
Any time
Today was a blur
A blur for good days
Blurry days
All take the same amount
Of time
To live through
So be blurred
Days of mine
Any time
A grey
Smog
Layer
Overtakes
Chicago
On a summer’s day
Where the smoke
Puddles over the trees
And houses
Smothering the
Room
The space
With grey
Grey
Grey
Shallow
Is the fear
That I see
Growing amongst
Those
Whose cares
Are not in consideration
With others
Rather we must emit and develop
Depth for others
And for ourselves
Who is to blame
A shame
Of a time
Had
When all that is wrong
Is now right
All good is bad
Everything is backwards
And that’s that way we are had
So who takes the fall
From the media
To politicians
Who live in desperation
Of oxygen
Based on fear and lies
Who is to blame
For these hard times?
I could care less
In my heedless
Mind
Of what the world
Is coming to
In time
For now I just rejoice
In a moment
Alive
And hopeful
For tomorrow
On a summers day
Blithe
With the orange
Sun
And the folding waves
On the wide open
Waters
Of Lake Michigan
Strawberries in a
Farmers Market
Make a fresh repose
To this life we live
Bitterly barking
In the fading hallway
All through the towns
And evenings
So this life is
Barely making it by
One had takes care
And the other
Could care less
In a world of confusion
And hope
In the moment of truth
Hopefully
The light comes through
In life lived
On the edges
Instead of the middle
Of the day
So I hold hope
For another turn
Around in the light
Of what is hopeful and
True
A Texas town
Known for many
But very few have returned
To the place
That towers
Over the cars
That roll through
Until the spirit of the State
Is one mantra
Said to the sky
In the middle of the night
This Texas town is quiet
And doing alright
What is now a
Useless term
Of energy
Stored
Elsewhere
I look to the clouds
Light and full of water
In the sky above
And wonder
How many years
These clouds have hung up
There
Near the sun
