A snowball
In the hand
Aiming at a man
Who throws
Two my way
I aim and let go
I duck below
Did I hit him
I will never know
A snowball
In the hand
Aiming at a man
Who throws
Two my way
I aim and let go
I duck below
Did I hit him
I will never know
A knights required
Process taken
Process labored
And strained
So for tonight
And the tedious process
Of choosing a direction of life
I postpone
For yet
Another morning
The knight
Game
Can be won
In a few moves
From the start
Until the finish
With a hold up face
And a few grooves
The game is over
So start anew
What would it take
To have complete equality
Of idea and thought
Is it something
That mankind can achieve
I hope with resitance
I believe with hesitation
But I see what happens around me
And I fall back to frustrated
Resignation
A light does not exist
When the vacancy
Has been shut out
When the moment at hand
Can’t seem to be
What we can understand
So the hopes of
A brighter
Tomorrow
Become the hinderance
Of a worrisome
Today
All around
Wrapping it’s light
And sound
In the ears of those
Who can hear
The words that were said
A word that has an expanse
Such as that can really last
The Mothership
Has arrived
Comes with the New Year
A giddy attempt
At risk
Or something near there
Taking on more than
Should be taken
And handing it down
To those below
And around
A giddy risk is the simple
Start
To a complicated year
Write a word
Of prose
Of poetry
Of anything
Just put the hand
To paper
And go
Unintended
Yet reliably
Irritable
The conjuction
Of weird
And desireable
Is a fantasty
That we tell ourselves
To calm the fears
Of what is to come
Yet somehow
The unintended is what
Actually plays
Out
If words were easy
I would write more
Than I can fit on this page
I would write
Until I was blue in the face
But today
I celebrate words
Of all types and forms
So celebrate with me today
The words that connect us
All the time
