The Longer Shadow Cast

Unto the evening

Of reds and purple

Skies of the desert

On fire with evening light

Descending

The longer the shadow cast

Brings in the evening air

Cool and crisp as the

Desert night

Cold upon the relinquished light

Take me to the desert near the

Camelback trail

The world at large

Could only bring this beauty

Upon my eyes to see

The Praying Monk

The light of the desert morning

Crisp in it’s falls ease

Upon the praying monk rock

Where the eye sees

Over the edge of Camelback and through

The evening red

The patient await

Tomorrow’s other fate

Upon the rock of consistency

There is a line of our hearts

Direct to the sky

Upon this line

We must hold hope

Of another desert night

The Quiet Turning of the Earth

From the soil and humid hot summers

To the depths of a winter cold

Bursting through the spring mood

Into the fields of color of fall

Making the light orange as it falls

Over the earth

Quietly turning

Bringing the change of

See the world

As it moves

And brings life and change

To our lives

Crisp of the Fall Leaves

In the light of the season

Orange in it’s hues

To the nights

And the chills

Evening through

Take the breathe of light

Into the depth of the lungs of past summers

To take in the night

Crisp as all

So here are words homaged

To the days of fall

Unfolding Fall Leaves

To the ground they fall

With the winds of change

Season of fall

Upon the ground they

Bend away

Into the dirt

There they stay

To come back

In the feeding of the trees

So the renewal season

Is now upon us

Lies of Bitterness

Lies

The size

Of small or large

Can destroy the life

Of humanity

In a modern French Revolution

Lived online

Guilty until proven innocent

Cancelled

And gone

But weathered lies of bitterness

Still keep on

So the brain must react

With precision

To make the decision

To know what is right

And what is wrong

The Broken Hourglass

When truth arrives

In any form

Away from the norm of life

It can heal and it can destroy

Lies made in time

The broken hourglass

Glass all around

Has had enough lies

From town to town

With the truth in light of day

Even the most insular will say

I can now see

What I could not before

I will raise my eyes from the floor

And see the light of

A new day

Where the Leaves Go Silent

In a season of change

When nothing will remain the same

Under the sun of orange glow

Where the leaves fall and go

Into the night and into the land

From the woods and into the

Winds of time

From these winds blow to the place

Where the leaves go silent

And not even a trace

Of summer will last

October at the Fence Line

The maple from the seasons harvest

In the crisp autumn sets

The fire of the evening burning

One last flame

As the fall set’s in

October at the fence line

While the moon sets the leaves

As the cold and warm intertwine

To bring the season of pumpkin

Again and again
