One Man Ego

Oh no

Secrets disclosed

How many

Who knows

The top of the hill will call for immunity

While the rest of humanity

Asks for simple decency

Don’t sell out the American Soul

To the cheap hand met

Along the road

Hidden discoveries

Hidden words

Hidden curtains

Blighting even the birds

On rampant edges

A man

With distorted thirsts

All hope lies

Awaiting another arrogant move

Here we go

Down the slippery slope of

One mans ego

Cascading to Our Graves

For every step of progress

I feel I regress

For every advance

I retreat

There is no perfect balance

That I can keep

No way to create perfection

Keep the lies from a second

Resurrection

Days where weights feel constrained

On my neck

My throat

I go to yell and all I have is a moan

I go to scream

Nothing more than a thin veiled beam

I don’t believe in conspiracy theory

But here we are

Saluting the one percenters

While we are sent cascading into our own graves

Way down

Where the banks collect our clothes

Where the dollar man knows our home

There is no protection

When the problems of insufficient funds

Makes it’s final connection

How did we get to a place of such

Deadly extremes

Some blow up Bentley’s

While other can’t keep up

It seems

Today I fear my future

For more progress means more indebtedness

How can I pull through

When it all seems too much

I get a rush of blood

To my head

I must start again

Create my own hope and go forward

Look to the sky

Keeping my eyes on the prize

Hope will come

Success will come

It has to come

Or we are all to be undone

Pay Up

Vulnerable dues

Unlikely news

Pay it to the man in the coat

In the long black trenchcoat

The snake oils salesman

The PhD pay him your money

Let go freely

Trying to get caught up

Is just digging further in the rut

While your at it

Take 2 punches to the gut

Guttural reactions to prescription drug contango

Have to keep the doctors fat and happy

So just hand over the checkbook

And don’t get sick

The Dollar Man

There he is

Green eyes lit up

Hovering in my studio

Watching my every move

Judging

Controlling

Asking

With no answers

A wry smile

Because he knows

What he costs me

Sleepless nights

Staying up late

Baggy eyes

While his eyes fixed

Unshaken

By reality

Or importance

The dollar man tears me apart

With his weight and indifference

How can it be

The shade of green so pale

That he controls so much

The dollar man

Scramble the Signal

Scramble the signal

Influential presidential

Previous conditions

How can we let go

Of the most vulnerable

Let the needy fall first

How could we live with that

Profits soup packed bowl

Hoping to ring in the numbers

While other fall sick

That is not the goal of humanity

Or decency

Take care of each other

Thin out the fat cats

They need less cars

That’s for sure

Reminds us that we are human

The words

Ring out

Hopefully don’t fall short
