Worried But Hopeful

Worried but hopeful

I am not quite so

More one than the other

Settled on another

Some set sail on uncertain seas

Unbeknownst where the breeze lies

How can I be so forgetful

The sky can not land in a whirlwind

Of the ocean

So much commotion

So I wonder where the future lies

Trying to read between the lines

I guess I will just remain worried for now

Bland

Here comes the surge

The mass deportations

Unappropriated funds

Irresponsible ones

Lead the charge

Lines seen dominating the headlines

How can we not at least take a chance

To try and dissect or understand

What is happening now so routinely

Across this land

There are battles being fought daily

In every moment yet our eyes and hearts can turn

Bland

This one orange toned man

Has no sense of humility or true plan

No one can understand this blight

We now deal with it everywhere in sight

I just open the papers and pour out the news

This is our land

And our land to lose

Pull the Weeds

Seed the truth

With loads of premium ice

Low and cold

Freezing

Sing out in imperfect harmony

Rung out from a towering bell

A momentous part of me

Drinking a cup of hot coffee

Seed the what is true

Pull what is not

Pivot for the Brand New

Pivot for the brand new

What can be the difference

Between a guitar and a grape

One of consumption

One of art

These grapes of old times

Quaint yet stupid

These grapes fall on an early morning

Yet guitars play late into the night

One withers while the other sustains

While I long for the life of a guitar

I wonder of the sweetness of grapes

Hands and Mind Pace

If these fingers could type

A million words a minute

Would my mod outpace the pace

Of my hands

Or my hands outpace the mind

In full times the mind grows

In fruitless times the mind wanders

So I am spending hours wondering

At what rate will my hands outpace my mind

Along Golden Streets

The main story

So it goes

Not many have heard

And few people know

But there is a man

Who came to power

Along golden streets

And ivory towers

The people were idle

Hands at the wheel

He was the one who claimed

The ultimate American deal

But before we can clear our eyes

The big promises become big lies

Big lies

From the “broad shoulder guy”

Rather a man who comes from golden gates

The ivory tower

His way of deception

Has no greasy grasp of true power

Life’s Vacuum

Life does not occur in a vacuum

We deliberate

We discuss

Evaluate

Concentrate

On what we can fix

What we can not

Holding hope

While tying the knot

We know not the direction the wind blows

But hold on to hope

Try to let it grow

In a real world

That we all know

Diplomat Wheels

Run and duck

We may be stuck

Diplomatic wheels turning

Engine burning

We run low on gas

Late on details

It seems if the cart shakes

More

We will be off the rails

So we shimmy on

On and on

We

Plug along

Towers Amidst Rotten Fields

The seeds of truth

Lie amongst the fields of lies

Not that we can not discover

But we must earnestly try

While a towering bell lingers

Subtle in the distance

Keeping time on us watching for

Ever instance

In sweet imperfect harmony

With the world that toils around

What we have lost

We have yet to be found

But in time truth will grow

To tower well above the rotten fields

To bring life again to the weaklings

My hope lies in such trees that grow

Along the roads we travel

The roads we have forged

Trees will rise up

Giving us protection from the lies
