One more time
Second try
Perfect rhyme
Hold on to perfection
Or just let your instincts
Be your best regression
Hold on
Or
Let go
Time to flow
And see what the subconscious knows
One more time
Second try
Perfect rhyme
Hold on to perfection
Or just let your instincts
Be your best regression
Hold on
Or
Let go
Time to flow
And see what the subconscious knows
What I know
I know I don’t know
Much
All I have learned
So far to go and learn
So much to hear and live
Impossible to know
What you don’t know
But the goal
Is to just grow
Don’t wait to return
Educated from the ill-fated
Decisive ability to divide
Than to unite
A tenous copper pipe
Winding through our hearts
Off we go
The hills
Way above the city
Where the dense fog lay
Is a town
Sleepy and slow
With shadows over the town
Trees and roads
Wind carelessly
Through hills and valleys
We rest upon these hills
And regain
Strength
Friend and moments
Time and history
What changes ahead and lies behind
Can be one great mystery
From meeting to realizing
From analyzing to growing
Friendships have a way of outlasting
While the mind keeps going
But at some point distance can be too great
Challenges and differences to obtuse
That is when some friends just have
To cut loose
But friendships change as do all living creatures
If history be true
This surely it will teach us
Fast impact
With little for sustain
Sustenance or compounded frame
How can we be so quick
To change
Change judgement
Words
Rearrange meanings and then
Come back to the same
What is it that can revolve
A door then disappear in moments
How can this happen overnight
Into the bright light
No one has it right
No one has it right
Many ships set sail at night
Setting sale in the winter
Protecting the sailors from
The evening’s blight
We have shared many meals
In this life
Made some jokes
And done alright
Friendship is a ship built together
Keeping us free from the blasts of the outer world weather
This ship has sailed for years
Our hearts have learned
Loved
Refined
Cheers glasses
And dined
From New York to Los Angeles
Bloomington to Fort Wayne
Our friendship is similar to back then
But not quite the same
Just as the weather can alter a boat
Over the years
So has our lives altered course over time
But it is true friendship that remains
At the core we are still the same
As when we boarded the ship of friendship
As reluctant strangers
We are now bound together
Friends all the same
I cry cowardly over my leather shoes
The moan of hateful speech
Beacons a new wrath
The exotic clover has grown
Dried up and shriveled
Bequeathed
For the next generation
A sensational generation
My hope and dream
So I do my part in planting hope and optimism
Even in this world of ever deep division
Our hopes and dreams
Bequeathed from our fathers and mothers
Have been squandered away
On cheap things
Lead the leaders
All I can hear is a president
Who is not presently
Our president
So much proclamations
But he has yet to take the helm
Of our great nation
I am not discouraged
For my love of country can stay strong
It is greater than one man’s toy
Tweet
Deliberation
But enough of the bombast already
We still have a month
Of normal life before we have to deal with
Public displays of hatred and deceit
Come on
Turn off the TV
Disconnect the phone
Lies and misogyny roam
So I will do my part to just disconnect
Recollect
And focus on something new
Some pray for a raise
Some pray for a new car
Some pray for more things
Some for the night
Some pray to just stay alive
Some pray for a new insight
Some pray for power
Some pray for spring flowers
Some pray for the weather
While some pray for water
Pray for me
Pray for you
Pay to pray
On the radios too
Raise your hands for love
Raise your hands for awareness
Raise your hands to raise fund
Just raise your hands for fun
On the radio the ads blare
Telling us “BEWARE”
But to continue to pray
Pray
Pray
