Wood worn in
Tells stories
Human condition
Hopes held high
In the winter
Wishing
For summer
With me
And many others
Stay warm
Stay cool
The summer will find you soon

The Resolve of Cooler Heads
–
Until cooler heads prevail
Under mild winds
Set sail
No good will come of this
No anger will resolve
Will new problems evolve
Cutting new wounds
Deeper than the original
So until cooler heads prevail
The boat sits in the harbor still
Waiting until
The patterns change
Sending this craft back
On its way
Summer’s Corner
I will win
I will lose
Winter rolls in
Laying snow
Over scars soothes
We wait
We correct
Hoping for the best
We wait for summer’s corner
Or head west
We practice
We rehearse
Taking a chance
For no small splash
But a giant burst
I remember
I will win
I will lose
For my growing heart
This is no new
News
Speck of White
A speck of white
Upon a summers evening
Faded light
Rejuvenated and renewed
From all that has been imbued
Rest has created eyes awake and wondering
Speck of Yellow
Falls through dusty windows upright
Suns glistening final rite
A palette covered with yellowish sweet
Continuum of summer heat
A speck of Green
On Summers lawn
Dew in the morning
After a crisp dawn
A speck of Blue
On a skycap so true
Gravity holding us down on this world
Keeping us protected from weightlessness
The true story of me and you
Told through the colors
Wheeled through life and illuminating our sky
We take moments out and away
Cry and laugh
Rejuvenated and happy
This is created through color invigoration
The sensation of happiness and vigor
Rolls through
Into
Me and you
Desperation Attempt
If this were to be my desperation attempt
Would you hold me in contempt
Under the Michigan summers sun
Beams burning my skin and tongue
Speaking words grasping at meaning
Uneven and fleeting
Like sand on beaches creeping
Back from waters and storms
Clouds rolling in on Michigan shores
Attempting and achieving
While words soar with sophisticated meaning
I have no plan
No great devise
To make it out of here
Under these burnt pink skies
I wish there was more to offer
With words from poetic authors
But for now I settle my bones
On summers sands and thawed out winter shores
In a desperate attempt to reach out
Move my lips with breathe
And shout
That life offers more than deep discounts
But mounts heavy on lazy fingers
Swelling in summer season
I have but yet one reason
To attempt my voice
To give light to my choice
And rejoice
In this desperation attempt
And the message goes
In these words I have sent
Hands in the Barn
Working in the barn
Burnt ropes with wirey abrasion
Tender skin hoping for evasion
Wind blown grass
And summer sun
Splintered wood on floors broken
Stairs old yet not forgotten
This is where work is done on a Thursday night
Preparing for the next days engagement
Needing a cleaning before the arrangement
People will gather soon to celebrate
What makes life so joyful and happy
The walls full of webs will bloom into life
Wood dull old and crass
Will jump out with new vibes
Shaking the conversations out of the folks
While they enjoy a cocktail and a smoke
All in this barn set on an Indiana field
I will smile and be happy
When this old barn gives it’s yield
Rampant Road Rager
What’s the rush for
Car can’t go much more
Flip the bird
Ride the bumper
I have no care for road rage
The lines pass in disdain
The burning look of pure anger
And pain
It is a shame that we have to deal with this
But these clowns run rampant in this town
Bringing even the good natured folks down
You see anger building up in faces surrounding
The engine revs in the burn sounding
Making each driver grab the wheel a little tighter
Pressing the gas a little harder
Staying ahead of the daemon driver
Keep up with traffic
An urban surviver
Look alive in this city
Stay on your toes
The rampant road rager
Will always be
Everywhere you go
Tomorrow’s Moon
Sitting in the car with an empty tank
I ain’t going nowhere
I wish I had a little bit more
But I really don’t care
The wheels sitting
Not rolling anytime soon
Got to get some gas
But the paycheck ain’t coming till after tomorrow’s moon
Hot Summer
Hot summer in June
New this weather was going to come soon
Call me into this summer swoon
Asking for the AC to be turned on
Warming with that summer sun
One T Shirt
I want to wear a t shirt all day
Where the sun shines through the cold gray
Where life is easy in summers pass
Hanging out chilling on your ass
There is something to that life
More than it seems
A true call from your dreams
I want to wear a t shirt to work
As just a small job perk
Away from suits and ties
Those are for the weary eyes
I think of how I can make it through
Just a simple thought will do
I need no complexities like buttons
Those are over done
All I need is one
T shirt
That will do
