I Owe You a Stare

I owe a stare to you

A stare of wonder

Concern

But more wonder than concern

I will become absorbed in your beauty

Radiant beauty

The odds that I could be

Completely absorbed in your smile

The way your throw your hair back

You could be a beauty ambassador

A lovely representative

I owe you a stare

To make you feel cherished

How great would the odds be

If I were a suspect on trial

That your eyes would lock back on mine

It could just so happen

That in this quick motion

Our eyes collide in meeting

Like atoms of plutonium

It will happen

I will stare

And nothing will ruin that moment

For I owe you a stare

Humanities Weary Seam

Where do lost dreams go

From the heads of dreamers

To the world outflow

Do dreams dry up and fall away

Do dreams pack up on a rainy day

Is there a collection of dreams

On the other side of time

Or gently recycled

What was once yours

Is now mine

Do dreams rest well below the sand

Never to be unearthed or seen again

Fall like autumn leaves on a cold day

Raked together and thrown away

Or do they linger around

Like the smell of smoke in an old town car

Can you see them trying to survive

Like summer grass planted late in July

Do they hold any hope of reimurging

Like dreams floating up and resurging

Or do dreams walk away quietly

Not disrupting the feelings inside me

Or do they burn out bright and wildly

Dreams exist

Dreams must not die

It gives me hope

To run fast or fly

Some are real

Some uncertain

Take the time

Pull back the curtain

In each of us I am certain

Behind humanities weary seam

We will find

Each one of us has a dream

The Target of a Padded Pocket

Cecil the Lion was slain

By nothing more than a human stain

Utmost disrespect paid

In each US dollar

Held all the locals

By the fabric of their collar

To get his intended target

He came prepared with padded pocket

I could barely stand to hear it

While he enjoyed to watch it

It is an unfortunate play

A game of intended consequence

Now we have one more reckless action

To answer for

It makes the honor of being American

Feel more destined to sicken me

Than free me

We now wear another badge of recklessness

Story of money paid for another nations trophy

Coldly executed

Lured out and destroyed

This making a living plucking plaque

Pleases himself with the attack

Of a icon

A symbol

Go ahead and cash it in your criminal

Let the fluorescent lights of your office

Offer a scathing reminder

That no bleach can undue

Hang your trophy on the shelf

But please never forgive yourself

A Song to See Me Through

There is a song that can be played

Over a thousand times and

Never ring old or untrue

A song that is played at wedding times

A song that is by your side in difficult times

To help see you through

To jump on in pure celebrations

To lean on in times of sadness and frustration

There is a couple of chords

A melody so light and easy

That it is played for someone in a wedding gown

Or when you have to lay a loved one down

It can draw tears in the morning

As the sun becomes anew

Falling tears touching cheeks

As water trickles on grass

In the morning dew

There is a song

Played in these time of jubilation

But also in times of desperation

It is a song that celebrates life

But also reflects on what is right

What is right is that there is a song

A song that exists in all of us

That we must sing to each other

From my soul to you

So we can see each other through

Over Rated

This is a new song that I have been working on very diligently in the past couple of

weeks. It is about the pressures of always looking for the next best thing and

looking to the future in life – when really all you have to care about is going on

right in front of your eyes. This song will be on our next album out in late 2013.

Enjoy!

I’m feeling so over rated

My life is so complicated

Not the best but I face it

These feelings are fresh

But I am jaded

Oh and I feel like I am going

Nowhere

And I feel like I want to be

Someone

I don’t want to write this song

Forget about tomorrow

If you want to live today

Forget about tomorrow

If you want to live today

If you want to live today

Remember what I say

My thoughts can be so relentless

You ‘bout gave up when I said this

Now that I know that you’re faded

Well I had to go but I waited

For you

Oh and I feel like we are going

Nowhere

And I feel like we are missing

Something

And I don’t want to write this song

Forget about tomorrow

If you want to live today

Forget about tomorrow

If you want to live today

If you want to live today

Remember what I say

Marketing

This was written late night. After a long day of marketing and social media-ing. Long day

and semi frustrated with it all and how it can take away from what you really want to

being doing. Enjoy!

All the time spent marketing

Now I know why it’s a full time thing

I have to spend some time on twitter

I watch it like a babysitter

With a cute emblem of a little critter

But it is so much more than that

A tweet is a tweet

For I am winning the race of the rats

But log on and get your computer

I get distracted by watching McGruber

Eh but why bother who cares

This white screen looks back, it stares

For me to embark on a journey, begin to

Climb the stairs

But for now I must rest and get some deep sleep

This computer keeps me away from slumber and rest

But now go check Facebook

And get that off your chest

A tweet is for twitter

Status the update

Facebook and Twitter

I can not begin to contemplate

And then there is sweet little Google

How many peoples eyes ogle over this Google

Search me this search me that

I need to know the top ten ways to burn fat

The questions run on for days even years

But with no response ever to the ears

Unless with Siri she’s the one

She brings it all together

The holy one

She even knows a joke

That’s a lie

But asking her is still fun

But ode to distraction

I must return to my path

This I must proclaim

I must say

For now I will sneak away

From bots and other things

To rest, rest calm and peaceful

And restore my faith in worldly beings
