Mean a Thing

The old fears

Dried up tears

Move up

Move out

All the changes happen

In specific time

And moments

We remove ourselves

To see the grand scheme

By it doesn’t mean a thing

When your heart is torn

What the Subconscious Knows

One more time

Second try

Perfect rhyme

Hold on to perfection

Or just let your instincts

Be your best regression

Hold on

Or

Let go

Time to flow

And see what the subconscious knows

The Showers

Clean me oh great shower

Prepare me for another day

Refresh my senses in steam

And warmth

Relax my mind

Open my heart

Showers in the morning

Always seems to be

The best start

What I Know

What I know

I know I don’t know

Much

All I have learned

So far to go and learn

So much to hear and live

Impossible to know

What you don’t know

But the goal

Is to just grow

A Time of Worry and Sorrow

A time of worry

And sorrow

What can be changed

That can’t be undone

What is being rearranged

Feels like

Looking directly at the sun

Hold breathe

And hold hands

We have a responsibility for this

Land

Being Home

Being home

Is a delicate mess

Mess and strange

But yet all is good

In what is familiar

To know

That is just how it is

When you get home

Waters Change

Waters frozen

Waters thaw

Opening up spring

From winters claw

Over the water the city

Of the Midwest

Settle to the side

Of the great

Lake Michigan

Winds

Take me on a great journey

Over the great lakes

Beyond the skyline of Chicago

Over the fields

Down the streets

Whip me over the middle of this land

Down to Indianapolis

Over to South Bend

With the wind I go

On a night

Of gale force depositions

Late in the evening

Stakes

Holding companies

Holding onto our futures

Monetary insomnia

For those uncertain

Of where they are going

Or there past

Just trying to keep my head up

Out of the suffocating glass
