Strides We Have

The strides we have made

Higher than 1988

Over the battleground

And through the map

Get the progressives to the poles

File the ballots

Vote on Tuesday

A big conversations is going on

In the commercial breaks

In Michigan

In Wisconsin

Then philadelphia

With the president

It’s almost over the rise

The ride

Surrogates and electorates

It’s a day of state

It’s safe to say

It’s insane

Tomorrow is going to move our country

The vote is coming

Doubt of Disposition

Doubt of disposition

The grand scheme has no easy transition

From chaos to smooth sailing

The profound problems now created

Some expected

Others anticipated

Where do we go from here

How do we create unity

Well let me see

It all starts with action

Not words

Cheap words indeed

That’s how we got here in the first place

The entire human race

Relying on brakeable bonds

Instead of constant devotion

But now the magic potion lies in us

To create unity

Across the board

To recreate this sub par reality

We live in now

Erase all of the transgressions

Of indignity

And create unity

What a Rush

It’s that determined feeling

The sweet ambition

The fantastic touch

The plausible idea

Warm to talk to

Improving the rush

To the fingers

Head

Arms

The rush of the moment

The Borrowed Riff

In a nebulous state of mind

The concluding chord rung out

Wrung out

Fascinated by the quick sequel of progression

How one planned moment

Moves to the next

A grape plucked from the tree

Quickly becomes a past tense

Cattle that pine for the open fields

Excellent presentation

Not quite overstated

But rather I am fascinated

That now a moment planned now is

More present a moment unknown

A hat floating off the cliff

Taken in

The borrowed riff

The Rally Cry of the Tired

The rally cry of the tired

A worthy cause flamed out with vigor

Passing floating rolling

I have tried

To do good

Good to be undone

So much has to rely on a rally cry

When your tired

And lonely

Not alone

You feel sad

Disconnected from the world

How did it work out not the way it was

All planned

A plane in flight unmanned

The plane now is in the final descent

It will land

How

Unknown

But through all of this

I

We

Have grown

Grown up

So here we come

Predict the Past

Words are moving fast

Faster than I can understand

Competing with the speed of light

Into my head with danger

No understanding needed

People blast out obscenities

With fog horn blasts

Worries about the future

Trying to predict the past

I am not moved quickly with emotion

But in this almost steady flowing river

Into the ocean running

Mud filled water

Sludge

Filling greater waters

To which I barely understand

So I await more news

Uncertainty

Certainly

It will come

What was new

Will quickly become the past

4 Minutes

In 4 minutes I will attempt

To write words

Strung together with

Some meaning

My eyes are stuck to the screen

Gleaming

Written in an attempt to say

What I have postponed along the way

Returning to ritual

Feels good

Yet not unusual

Rewrite

In hopes of a mad resurrection

My pen falls flat in dejection

More like a renewed redirection

Of my final intention

Words lassoed

And written

Bringing back the words I had not given

I write with the hopes of a new discovery

To go forth and be free

From subtleties

My life long recovery

To write eternally

Articulate Assembling

Articulate assembling

Summer salad created

Hands willfully picking the pieces

Assembling the creation at hand

Southern Indiana type of man

Years spent on the eastern seaboard

Now looking a bit more windward

Back against the jet stream

And to the midwest

Now creating companies with goals set

A man and his discovery

Looking for hopeful engagements

And full recovery

We sit for dinner

My wife and I

Engaged from side to side

Discussing his next adventure

From the countryside

A home set off in the distance

Off the country roads in existence

We discuss possibilities of new futures

I wish I could have seen this sooner

The Power to Heal

Poetic justice

Late night karaoke slams

Altered punctuation

Drinks embezzled for us

From the incoherent

Blasting with interference

Keeping the lines straight

With a brother more found than lost

Amazing engages

Light engages

Hoping a new life revealed

Oh how the power of music

Can heal
